Volunteers assemble 200+ emergency food bags for BISD students.

This consists of:

Volunteer: Pantry Express Admin - Must be pre-approved (by Volunteer Coordinator) and completed training for this role.

Pantry Express Volunteer Admin is direct support to the Grocery Store Check in Process as well as ensuring that Neighbors who are new to the pantry get correctly signed in to Zap In so that they will be seen by the Intake Coordinator.   The Admin Volunteer will be responsible for all incoming phone calls during the Pantry Express shift.   The Pantry Express Volunteer Admin will need to feel comfortable with multi-tasking and work closely with the Intake Coordinator, the Grocery Store Manager and the Inventory team.

-The Grocery Store Greeter will manage the flow of Neighbors into the store.   They will monitor and observe the status of the Neighbors' shopping and checking out.   The Greeter will determine when the next shopper can enter the store based on capacity guidelines. The Greeter will utilize an ipad that indicates the time that each Neighbor was checked in.  The Greeter will call Neighbors in on a first-come first-served basis, utilizing "check in" times.  Overall, the Grocery Store Greeter is responsible for maintaining an even flow of Neighbors through the store.

Pantry Express is a once a month evening shopping opportunity for neighbors that occurs on the first calendar Thursday of each month.  Each Volunteer Shopping Guide will offer a one on one experience of helping the neighbors select from Dry Grocery racks, as well as Refridgerated and Frozen food items .  Volunteer Guides will engage with the shopper, listen to their selections, retrieve the requested items, and place in the shopper's cart.   Volunteer Guides will utilize the signage on each rack, to assist the shopper in selecting the recommended quantities to best reach the allotted weight per household.
